What is kybella?
Submental fat (for example a “double chin”) can be very stubborn and hard to get rid of even with proper diet and exercise.
KYBELLA® is the only FDA-approved treatment for dissolving submental fat. The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin.
How do I know if Kybella is right for me?
There are three main causes for submental fat: weight gain, aging, and genetics. You definitely don’t have to be overweight to have submental fat. A double chin can make you look older and heavier than you really are.
If you have been trying to get rid of submental fat through diet and exercise with little to no luck, KYBELLA® might be right for you. It is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment for submental fullness and once the fat cells dissolve, they do not come back.
What can you expect during treatment?
Treatment is performed in the privacy and comfort of Alea Aesthetics Medical Spa and administered by a Board Certified nurse practitioner.
Procedure takes about 30-45min
No anesthesia required but we can provide a topical anesthetic as well as ice packs
We will precisely mark the area of the submental fat and make small injections spaced about 1cm apart.
Downtime
Downtime is minimal. You may experience swelling, pain, numbness, redness, and areas of hardness in the treatment area.
How long does the treatment last?
You results will become visible over the first 2-3 months. You may need a couple of treatments to achieve desired results. Once the fat cells are dissolved they will not come back. However, in the case of weight gain, a touch-up treatment might be required.
Cost
The cost depends on how many vials you need for your submental area. At Alea we charge $900 for 1 (2mL) vial. Package deals are available for more than one treatment. Usually, clients need 2 vials for the first treatment.

Both men and women over the age of 18 (or younger with parental consent) can be candidates for the treatments described above.
Kybella is not for you if you:

-Have an infection in the treatment area
